Timings for Petroleum Tankers’ Entry in Hubballi-Dharwad Revised
Hubballi: The Police Commissioner has revised the entry timings for petroleum tankers in the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad. Previously, restrictions were in place, barring the entry of all heavy goods vehicles from 7 am to 9 pm to prevent traffic congestion and to prevent delays to the construction of ongoing flyover work in Hubballi.
However, these restrictions were causing significant challenges for petrol stations operating within the twin cities, as well as for the transportation of fuel to neighboring districts from the Rayapur oil depot. In response, oil companies recently appealed to the Police Commissioner to revise the order to ensure timely fuel deliveries to petrol stations and surrounding districts.
Recognizing the need to adjust the timings for essential services, the Police Commissioner has now revised the schedule. According to the new order, petroleum tankers transporting fuel from the Rayapur depot to other districts are allowed to enter and travel within the twin cities between 11 am and 4 pm, and again from 8 pm to 7 am. Restrictions on other heavy goods vehicles remain unchanged, the order stated.
